These will make you the hostess with the mostest. I promise. I think it's safe to say that these get even more attention than my cookies. They are also a cinch to make, just don't make them too early or your family will devour them before your guest even arrive. Normally I make half with vanilla wafers and half with Oreo cookies. Someone forgot to buy the Oreo cookies.
Ingredients
1 package (12 oz) vanilla wafers or Oreo cookies
2 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 °F. Line miniature muffin tins with miniature paper liners. Beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla in large bowl with mixer until well blended. Add eggs, one at a time, beating on low speed after each just until blended.
Place 1 cookie on bottom of each of each muffin cup; cover with cream cheese mixture.
Bake 20 minutes or until centers are almost set. Cool. Refrigerate 3 hours. Leave plain or top with cherries.

Callie and I saw Paula Deen make these on TV a while back. Callie immediately started making them and they were soon her "signature" dessert. We always had trouble with them sticking to the paper liners though.
I agree that they are so easy and always a hit!
