Pretzel Bread

This recipe confused me as it didn't mention anything about letting the dough rise. It also left out dunking the pretzels into boiling baking soda water prior to baking. I made my dough in the bread machine as usual and I let it rise for an hour. I then punched it down and kneaded it a few times. I decided to roll it out and cut out rolls. I then covered the rolls and allowed them thirty minutes to rise. Meanwhile I boiled water and slowly added baking soda to it. I boiled the rolls for about thirty seconds before placing them on a greased cookie sheet. I sprinkled them with coarse salt and baked them. The flavor and texture were great. I sliced them in half and made ham and cheese sandwiches with them. It was so delish!

I love anything pretzel. Making a bread with pretzel dough and then using it to make sandwiches is right up my alley!
