Happy Everything

Happy Belated Blogoversary! … this year marked 11 years of blogging. Crazy.
Happy Belated Thanksgiving/Birthday! … lucky spoiled me had the two combined this year. It was delicious.
Excluding Thanksgiving I’ve been pretty MIK (missing in kitchen) this last month. So when my Early Bird copy of Gooseberry Patch’s cookbook “101 Soups, Salads & Sandwiches” showed up I was extremely excited. I miss food. I miss my kitchen. I really miss sharing recipes. So here’s what is going to happen. I am going to sit down with a hot cup of peppermint tea, read my cookbook and plan out next week’s menu.

On Monday I’ll share my menu and kick off a giveaway for this cookbook. You could be the lucky winner to own it before it’s even out at stores. Throughout the week I’ll blog and share with you like I use to. Back when I was a SAHM and life was good. I miss that life but I’m loving my paychecks. So bittersweet.

Weekly Menu For July 25

Happy Three Month Anniversary!
I’ve made it past my probation period and am officially a full time permanent employee. Yeah! Of course that means I had to bake something yummy last night to take into work. I think that’s my favorite part of having a job. I’m still having trouble juggling work & home life. Our house is a chaotic mess. I had this weekend off so I had a chance to catch up on cleaning and running errands. I think we were at Walmart three times on Saturday and twice on Sunday. With all those trips I still somehow forgot the vegetable broth I need for later this week. Sheesh! I need a wife.  ;o)

Weekly Menu For April 25

Hi-Ho
Hi-Ho
It’s back to work I go.
Augh!
I’m excited about getting back into the working world but worried about OCD home life. I love cleanliness and order. I tend to get grouchy in clutterville. Say a prayer for my family. Being today was my first day everything is going smoothly. Thank goodness for Easter leftovers. I’ve fed everyone, cleaned up the kitchen and ran the vacuum. Now to hurry up and post some delicious recipes from the weekend. I made a chocolate mousse pie to die for. I insist you try it because I’m sure it’s the cure for PMS.

Good morning.
Monday already. Easter weekend coming up. So much to do and only four days to do it in. Whew. Our weekend was a flooded, wet, power outage mess. Due to the power outage I wasn’t able to cook dinner on Saturday. Then Sunday we ate cake for dinner. What kind of mom am I? So last week’s pork chops have been moved to Tuesday. I can’t wait for that meal, yummers. Then Thursday I’m making Gyros again. The marinade is amazing I can’t wait to share that recipe. Enjoy your Monday!

Yummers. I have a busy day ahead of me. Grocery shopping, cupcake baking, laundry, dog bathing and maybe cleaning out the asparagus patch. The weather is suppose to be beautiful and I’m hoping to get outside to enjoy it.

Weekly Menu For March 21

I’m slowly trying to get back into the swing of things. Every year I battle the winter blues (aka SAD … seasonal affective disorder). With Spring just around the corner I thought for sure I beat it this year. Wrong. It just amazes me the lack of control I have over it. It’s like a switch is hit and I no longer have the desire to do anything. I can’t wait for more days filled with sunshine.

Weekly Menu For Feb 21

What a weekend! Christopher worked Saturday morning helping his Cadets with a pancake breakfast fundraiser. We were suppose to tag along but Haillie had to be at the high school for Drama. Drats! Just Abby Doodle, me and the pups for the morning. When Christopher returned home he had me get ready for a mysteries car ride. We ended up at one of my favorite Americana craft stores to do some shopping. Yeah! I can't wait to decorate today. We did more shopping on Sunday at a kitchen store. Where I picked up a new waffle iron, kitchen maid paddle and an Eco friendly reusable traveling coffee cup. Apparently my family feels I'm a closet hoarder since I save my Dunkin' Donuts cups to reuse. As I was about to stand up for myself I found a total of three disposable cups (plastic, paper and styrofoam) that I have washed. Yikes! I shall reuse no more. I swear I'm so spoiled.

Weekly Menu For Feb 14

I have myself running in circles today. Apparently I totally forgot the February 14 was a holiday and scheduled a garage appointment for 8:00a. Oy. While making heart shaped pancakes for the kiddos I’ll be doing my hair so I can leave on time. Then my car’s air bag repair and inspection better not take too long because I need to get home and start some serious baking. But wait there’s more. After dinner we have our second redo tax appointment. Can you say overbooked?
Reminder, don’t forget to link up and join in the fun tomorrow.

Weekly Menu For Feb 7

Let’s see how I do this week. All that bad weather really made a mess of my menu last week. Kiddos were home too much, Christopher wasn’t home enough. What a hard crowd to feed. I’m also trying something new this month. Every Monday is a crock pot day. Monday in our home is a hectic day for me. I do the grocery shopping and a massive house clean up from the weekend. It always amazes me how two days with everyone home can destroy the house. If you were to walk into our home right now you may think I don’t own a vacuum. Scary.

Re-Scheduling

Due to a scheduling conflict (aka Christopher is working once again) tonight's meal of chicken pot pie has been postponed to tomorrow night. Along with it will be Tuesday night's biscuits that never made an appearance to dinner.
Glad I plan our meals. *eye roll*

Christopher won't be home Monday night and is hoping to make it home Tuesday and be snowed in with us for Wednesday. Fingers crossed. As much as I want him snowed in with us, I'm really hoping the snow just skips over us completely. A girl can dream.

Weekly Menu For Jan 24

The winter blues are winning the battle. Ugh. On top of that I have a bad case of "I don't wanna" going on that has to stop. Our weather this week is more snow and coldness which isn't helping matters. I miss the warm sunshine and summer breezes. Having my windows open and music blasting while I clean. Next week if that groundhog predicts six more weeks of winter you shall see groundhog stew on my menu.
Just kidding, that's so total gross!

Weekly Menu For Jan 10

Time to get back in the saddle. Last week was so rough, I am defiantly getting too old to be sick. I don't have the patience for it and I was starting to get whinny. It was so bad I was offering pillows to my darling children, begging them to smother me and put me out of my misery. Instead they raided my sore throat popsicle stash. Not fair. In my absences from the kitchen Christopher took over with his own menu ideas. I was grateful and thankful.

Weekly Menu For Jan 3

Yeah! for the first menu of the new year. I'm not bragging but I have the whole month of January already planned out. Alright, I am bragging but it's only because I know that it will never happen again. I received so many cookbooks for Christmas I could help but keep adding meals to my list and before I knew it the month was filled. There is a place or two I will have to tweak as I try not to make two meals in a row that Abby won't like. Oh the challenge of feeding Miss Finicky Pants.
